Enjoy a short walk up to Contra Costa County and Mt. Diablo with a nice view. Explore an entire hillside of 13 acres.

In Pleasant Hill, California, Dinosaur Hill Park (also called Dino Hill) is a park. Located off Taylor Blvd, the park offers open space, hiking, and scenic views of 13 acres (5.3 hectares). A limited parking area can only be reached by northbound traffic. A staircase and railroad connecting steps lead to the top of the hill from here. The park is one of several parks that the Pleasant Hill Recreation and Park District operate and maintain. The park provides good views of Mount Diablo and is popular as many simultaneous (though distant) fireworks displays can be seen on the 4th of July. A panoramic view of Pleasant Hill, Concord, and Walnut Creek and the Diablo Range's northern reach is provided by the park.

Dino Hill is tucked around the curve of Taylor Boulevard with 13 acres of open space for tourists to explore, walk around and enjoy spectacular views of the eastern bay and Mt. Diablo, as locals refer to it. The park is a popular location for sunsets or fireworks on July 4th.

The parking lot is tiny and can have a limit of around 8 parking spaces, but it is almost never full. People do not remain here for a long time, so a few parking spaces are generally still open.

At dusk, the park closes, but it's small, so it doesn't take long to explore the whole thing anyway.

This park is really more of an open space and it's a common (and maybe borderline) evening hangout spot, judging by the broken glass and charred combustion remains. There are many places to walk around, and from Martinez to Walnut Creek, the views are breathtaking in a panoramic way. There is a small parking lot off this busy road and there are no facilities available (including toilets).

Dinosaur Hill is just more of an open area with no play equipment or dedicated facilities, and as they might get bored, probably not the best for small kids.

One of the last great lookout points in the area you could see from Walnut Creek all the way to Martinez numerous spots for different views or one spot where you can see all the great places to bring your children right now, it's very green, there I have some really good pictures to go with this.

Dinosaur Hill Park

It didn't have as many houses around it 40 years ago, but it's all pretty much the same. Best view for sure in this area unless you go up on top of Mount Diablo's mat. So enjoy taking your dog and your kids at Dinosaur Hill. It's a great place to have a picnic or just enjoy a little bit of the sights. You'll enjoy it either way.

Seriously, this park has the best view of Mt. Diablo that you can get in the East Bay. On the top of the hill, there are beautiful oak trees and beautiful little trails that curve across the hills. This is a good spot to take fun pictures. The hills are covered in lush, bright green grass in February. It's a perfect vantage point. You can see it all the way to Martinez from Alamo. It is a perfect place to take a walk with your dog or just chill after work.
