Rankin Park

Buckley St, Martinez, CA 94553, United States

Rankin Park is at the west end of Buckley Street with 41 acres of land. The place has a swimming and diving pool, the picnic area, the horseshoe pit, the softball field, the bathroom, the playground and the gazebo.

The park looks brand new and has a large picnic area with barbecues, a gazebo, separate small and large children's areas and an iconic gazebo. This place is beautiful, a little secluded, but very peaceful. It's going to be a great barbecue spot for a birthday party or a weekend.

This is a great playground / park to bring your children, no matter how old they are. There are two age-specific Segregated areas (2-5 and 6-12)so that children can play safely.   Large play structure for big kids, big slide, climbing rocks, swings, running / playing field, picnic tables, barbecues, toilets, plenty of street parking.

A great park for all ages. In the last few years, Martinez has done an excellent job of renovating the park. The playground is a new, cool design and a great place for the kids to get the wiggles out. The landscape back to the hill with all the seating and BBQ pits is super clean. The pits themselves are double-sized and simple to use with a crank to raise the barbecue to your desired height above the coals. It's very cool.  Plenty of tables and chairs to fit large groups. The baseball field is clean and maintained, there are several public pools when you reach the park grounds, and there are plenty of hiking trails on the hillsides. The only thing missing is the old train engine that we used to climb as a child.

The remodeling here is at the top of the line. There are separate play areas for various ages and profitable picnic areas. There's fewer homeless people hanging about than before the remodeling. They do have a water park that's wonderful on a hot day. Requires a lot of parking and shade. Baseball field is open. Clean toilets, comfortable swimming pool. Quite nice and fun for the family. What a perfect way to get your life back to downtown Martinez.

The Rankin Park Aquatic Center

The Rankin Park aquatic complex replaced three old pools with two new pools. The play pool includes a beach entrance, spray play equipment and a teaching area of 1–3 ft depth. The lap pool has eight lanes for swimming and lap swimming, with the staff's ability to create three 30-metre lanes for longer swimming.

The lap pool also contains a diving well, a self-operating ADA lift and easy access to the stairs. There are five enclosed picnic areas bordering the pools for shades and parties. Wide open bathrooms offer natural light, plenty of showers, toilets and ADA access. This flexible, multi-purpose facility operates on the same budget as the old complex – but with much greater community use.
